WEEK ONE – COMING INTO THE BODY – BREATH

What is Orgasmic Yoga Practice? Orgasmic Yoga is a practice is a pleasurable, intimate and transformative practice that we do while sexually aroused. When practiced regularly over time, Orgasmic Yoga can change our life. It is a cornerstone practice derived from Sexological Bodywork. 

The practice sessions involve breathing, savoring, sound, movement, touch, placement of attention, and awareness of intention.  Erotic practice sessions weave together the heart and genitals. This alone is a profound reason to commit to practice. Orgasmic Yoga often produces a state of arousal that is free of fantasy, unfinished emotional business, religious dogma, cultural caveats and habitual sexual behaviours. In this erotic trance state, an individual becomes aware of the body as a source of wisdom, happiness and freedom.

In this first week we will focus on working with BREATH and how it is the very base of learning how to move sexual energy within the body. Since breath is also strongly connected to our suppressed emotions, resistance to breathing is very common. Once we are asked to breathe deeply, our mind will want to switch off as buried emotions might rise. Observe this tendency and keep breathing, allowing whatever is there to come to the surface.

THE IMPORTANCE OF MUSIC

Music shapes our experience and influences our mood, especially during an Orgasmic Yoga session. Sexual energy amplifies anything that’s present within us, including the suppressed emotions and parts of ourselves that we’ve locked up in the shadows of our being. Music can help us to connect deeper with the present moment and our body as it focuses the awareness inwards and shifts the senses towards active listening rather than mindlessly watching.

Two are our recommended playlists on Spotify, the third one you can play straight from this site. Allow yourself to fall into the music and move to the rhythm of your heart. We Just explore and see where it takes you. Don’t underestimate the power music has for your session!

TOUCH EXPLORATION

Your quality of touch is a central piece in an Orgasmic Yoga session – it can range from kneading, grabbing, slapping, scratching, pinching to the most feather light, delicious, soft touch that rushes orgasmic shivers all over your body. Every week we are giving you a different video for your exploration and inspiration. This first week is on the five elements of touch. Injoy!

THE 5 ELEMENTS OF TOUCH

The five elements are: Earth, Water, Fire, Air and Ether. Each correlates to different qualities of touch. After your practiced each element for a few minutes, notice which one is triggering, challenging or boring you and then – you guessed it – explore that particular element further.

After you’ve explored the different elements separately take some time for free form play and mix the elements into your OY session. Explore creatively! 

BREATHING PRACTICES

Below find a number of intentional breathing techniques, that you can use at the beginning, during and after your Orgasmic Yoga practice. 

THE HEART BREATH

Practice for five to ten minutes. If you never learn or practice any other kind of breathing, you could have a perfectly lovely time with this one alone. You can take in a lot of air with a minimum amount of effort and tension. It’s a great all-around breath for erotic purposes.

 

SNIFF SNIFF BLOW

Practice for 2-4 minutes. A very simple way to increase and draw energy up the spine. Use whenever you want to distribute your sexual energy upwards and add a little squeeze of the perenium (pelvic floor muscle) on the inhale to increase the effect. 1. Take two sniffs through your nose 2. Exhale through the mouth. Repeat the pattern.

BREATH OF FIRE

Practice for no longer than one to two minutes. The Breath of Fire is a Kundalini yoga practice. It is a powerfully energizing breath that gets the little neurons in your brain humming as it clears your lungs and cleanses your blood.  This rapid, continuous breath is done entirely through the nose. It can be done in any position, but it’s best learned standing or sitting up with a straight spine the emphasis of this breath is on the exhale.

20 CONNECTED BREATHS

A very simple and efficient breathing technique to centre yourself when feeling emotionally unstable. There are two ways to do this: One is to simply just take 20 circular breaths that have no pause between inhale and exhale, slow and deep. The second version consists of four five-breath intervals. 4 shorter inhale and exhales through the nose followed by one long and deep breath cycle. Repeat for five times and then simply rest for a moment with the sensations and feelings in your body.

MOVEMENT PRACTICES

A way to come deeper into the body is to combine your self- pleasure breathing with movement practices. Below find 2 techniques that can assist you on this process. Movement is vital on this journey to break the old patterns of “quick fix or jerk off”. Movement will bring diversity and allow you to expand your pleasure potential. Again, be prepared to encounter resistance as we live in a society that does not favour movement and we have been gradually educated out of our childlike nature to constantly move our bodies. Push through the resistance and open yourself to your greater physical potential.

SHAKING This is a wonderful movement practice that we use very often. It stems from ancient eastern Qi Gong, where it is used as a rejuvination techniques. It shakes up old stored garbage in the cells and revitalises the body. In our Orgasmic Yoga sessions this is one of the most used movements that we use to circulate energy and bring it up the spine. Combined with pelvic floor muscles squeezes it can lead to high states of arousal and erotic energy moving freely.

 

PELVIC MOVEMENT This pelvic movement is a simple and very effective way to warm up the hips and stir up sexual energy. Practiced for 5-10 minutes in the beginning or during your erotic dance, it can bring on strong sensations in the sexual centre. Combined with the breathing shown in this video it allow the hips to free up stiffness and unblock the energy in those lower centres of our body. Remember not to expect wonders just from doing these practices once. Your body will need to slowly get used to the new way of breath and movement incorporated in your sensual play.
